Worldwide Induction Day

Read the WHO, WHERE, HOW, WHY, WHEN and WHAT of Lions
and ask yourself... Is it for ME?

WHO?

Your local Lions Club is part of Lions International, a world wide voluntary, 'community service' organisation with over 34,000 clubs in 155 countries, comprising more than 1,400,000 members, making it the largest organisation of its kind in the world. While each Lions Club gives priority to the needs of its local community the Association is truly international with no religious or political affiliations of any description.

Multiple-District 105 is the collective name for 13 Lions districts that go to make up the Lions organisation in the British Isles and Ireland.

WHERE?

We serve in any way we can, and to the best of our ability, to what we see to be the needs of the community in which we live, in whatever form it appears necessary, and to whatever extent our resources of time and money permit.

WHEN?

We receive requests of all natures, and sometimes it takes a while to find the right answer or right person for the job. we can and do contact other organisations if they are better able to assist - all in an effort to provide speedy help.

All this is done in our spare time, there are no full time organisers.

As an International organisation Lions are able to provide urgent assistance in times of disaster through the Lions International Foundation, a trust fund established by regular contributions from Lions Clubs throughout the world.

tugowar HOW?

Money is raised from you the public to support our projects. All monies raised in this way are entirely used for charity. Nothing at all is deducted for Club administration. All members subscribe to their own administration costs.

WHY?

The effort contributed by a collection of men and women (and frequently their families too) for serving their local community provides a fellowship second to none - an important aspect of our Club life.

WHAT?

Our activities include - supplying furniture to those in need, assisting families in distress, working with the blind, and the physically and mentally handicapped. Providing hospital equipment and patients comforts. Supplying food parcels to OAPs and others in need. Providing hospital transport and organising outings and concerts for the elderly. Sponsorship of MedicAlert, Project Sight First and other 'quality of life enhancing projects.

If YOU want to know more or wish to join, please email the Multiple District Membership Officer, who would be only too pleased to get in touch with you personally.
