The MD105 Emerging Lions Institute is held annually in January of each year in Birmingham - usually over the third weekend. It is targeted at Lions of between one and seven years experience as a Lion. The course runs from Thursday lunchtime through to Sunday lunchtime and is funded jointly by Lions Clubs International and MD105 along with a contribution from the delegates themselves (some Districts sponsor their candidates).

The subjects are led by members of the Md105 faculty Institute all of whom have been certified by Lions Clubs International to deliver the course. Subjects covered include Diversity, Team Building, Motivation and Conflict Resolution all of which may be encountered or needed at Club and District level. They are intended to equip future Club officers, Zone Chairman, Region Chairman and District Officers with the necessary skills to make an effective contribution to the organisation. Indeed some of the current Vice District Governors and District Governors have progressed through the MD and the Senior Lions Institutes which have equipped them well for the parts they now hold.

Nominations to attend this programme are invited from your District Governor in September/October each year by the MD Leadership Chairman. Two places are allocated to each District plus one for the Lionesses and one for the Leos.
