Lions Clubs International

The Senior Lions Institute is held for each constitutional area of the world and aimed specifically at those Lions who have not reached the post of Vice District Governor. All costs are borne by Lions Clubs International with the exception of travel costs to the institute which are the responsibility of the delegate. Delegates need to be aware that the course is held over 5 days including a weekend and attendance at all sessions including the Institute meals in the evening is mandatory.

The Faculty Development Institute is held annually in each constitutional area of the world and aimed at those with some training experience but who wish to learn more about enhancing presentation skills and understanding the various learning styles of different groups of people. It also covers how to put the various component parts of a course together including the important aspect of timing and why 'death by PowerPoint' is often not appropriate. The course is held generally over 4 days including a weekend and, just as with the Senior Lions Institute, all the delegate has to pay are their travel costs.

Please note. Although both courses are held in lovely European cities, I can assure you that as a frequent member of the Faculty for these Institutes, there is no time for sight seeing as the working day is from 08:00 to 17:30 with some group work to be done in the evenings. That said however the individual does gain a lot by networking with Lions from other countries.

The MD Leadership Chairman will seek nominations from your District Governor / District Leadership Chairman for both these events once dates are notified and will be available to answer any questions that the potential candidate may have.
